Significant Storm Expected to Hit Central Pennsylvania
Hey there folks, we’ve got some important weather news for you. The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for Blair County and its surrounding areas. Starting from Tuesday, a significant storm is predicted to bring multiple hazards to Central Pennsylvania. So, if you’re in the area, you might want to buckle up and get ready.
The storm is expected to kick off with snowfall, leading to light to moderate accumulations in the Alleghenies. But don’t get too comfortable with the snow, as it’s expected to change to rain by afternoon. And it’s not just a light shower we’re talking about here. The heavy rainfall, coupled with the melting snow, could lead to an elevated risk of river flooding. So, be on your guard!
But that’s not all! Strong winds are also on the forecast. We’re talking gusts of 35 to 55 mph expected to hit Tuesday and continue through Tuesday night. So, ensure your outdoor items are secure.
Important Weather Alerts
Due to the impending storm, several important weather alerts have been issued:
- A Flood Watch is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon for much of Central Pennsylvania.
- A High Wind Watch has been issued for Cambria and Somerset counties.
- A Wind Advisory has been issued for northern and eastern portions of Central PA.
Make sure you’re keeping up with these advisories and plan your activities accordingly.
