What a fantastic night we had at the WinterFest Tree Lighting and Soup Sampling 2023! A big thanks to everyone who participated and made it such a memorable event. We had some truly delicious soups this year, courtesy of our local restaurants. Let’s show them some love and appreciation for their efforts!
Meet the Participants
We had a diverse range of soups, from traditional to exotic. Here’s a rundown of this year’s participants and their offerings:
- Cracker Barrel Altoona: Chicken Noodle
- The Dream Restaurant: Hearty Pumpkin Chili
- Main Moon: Wonton Soup
- Mayfield at The Capitol Hotel: Steak and Potato Soup
- Prime Sirloin Buffet: Cream of Tomato
- Sugar Run Brewing Company: Yum Yum Soup (Thai Vegetable)
- US Hotel Tavern: Chili
And the Winners Are…
The moment you’ve all been waiting for – the results of your votes!
The Mayor’s Choice was Mayfield for their Steak and Potato Soup. Then, for the People’s Choice awards, we had:
- Third Place: Sugar Run Brewing Company for their Yum Yum Soup (Thai Vegetable)
- Second Place: The Dream Restaurant for their Hearty Pumpkin Chili
- First Place: Mayfield for their Steak and Potato Soup
Congratulations to all the winners!
Fun fact: we believe this is the first time a soup has won both First and the Mayor’s Choice. Can anyone recall another time when this happened?
