Snow Alert for Blair County and Surrounding Areas
Hey there folks! Just a quick heads-up from the National Weather Service Partners-Blair County and the surrounding areas are in for some serious winter weather this Saturday, January 6, 2024.
What’s Coming Our Way?
Brace yourselves for a plowable snowfall, that’s snowfall greater than 2 inches, most likely across central PA from Saturday morning through to Saturday night. The snow is expected to spread from south to north, continuing through Saturday night.
The heaviest snow is expected to fall from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening. The areas forecast to receive the highest snowfall totals, between 4-6+ inches, are generally located between I-99/US-220 and US-15/I-78 in the heart of central PA.
There’s also a chance that a winter storm watch may be issued by this afternoon. So, keep an eye out for that.
Anything Else We Should Know?
Well, the snowfall amounts have trended modestly higher for Saturday. There’s also some preliminary information about another winter storm brewing for next Tuesday-Wednesday. So, it looks like we’re in for a bit of a white week!
