Be Alert, Blair County: Weather Advisory for January 16-17, 2024
Hey there, Blair County residents and surrounding areas! We’ve got some important weather updates to share with you for Tuesday and Wednesday, January 16-17, 2024. We’ve received an urgent alert from the National Weather Service and Blair County Department of Emergency Services, so let’s dive right into it.
What’s Happening?
First off, we have accumulating snow which will likely result in hazardous travel conditions this morning. An additional 1-2″ of snow is expected, mostly falling between now and 1pm. But hang on, there’s a chance for higher amounts especially in east-central PA, stretching from Sullivan County south through Schuylkill and Lancaster Counties.
And it’s not just the snow we need to worry about. Brace yourselves for some frigid wind chills expected tonight through Wednesday morning. So, if you’ve got plans, you might want to reconsider, or at least bundle up!
Important Changes to Note
- Wind Chill Advisory: There’s a wind chill advisory in place for tonight into Wednesday morning across the Laurels and Northern Alleghenies. So, be prepared!
- Winter Storm Warning: Lancaster, Lebanon, and York Counties, listen up! A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for your areas. Stay safe out there.
