Urgent Weather Alert for Blair, PA: Snow, Sleet, and Gusty Winds Expected
Heads up, folks! The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an urgent alert for Blair, PA, and surrounding areas. Brace yourselves for some snow, sleet, and gusty winds this coming Friday and Saturday. According to the alert, snow and sleet will start falling across the western highlands and central mountains late Friday afternoon into Friday evening. We can expect a coating to two inches of accumulation, with localized accumulations up to 5″ across the highest elevations of the northern mountains. So, if you live in these areas, better get those snow shovels ready!
But if you’re in the remainder of central Pennsylvania, you’ll see primarily rain from this weather event. Keep in mind that instances of flooding remain possible, especially in the Lower Susquehanna Valley tributaries. Make sure to stay safe and avoid flooded areas.
That’s not all, folks! Gusty winds are also expected across most of central Pennsylvania. These could reach up to a whopping 60 mph along the Laurel Ridges Friday evening into early Saturday morning. Be sure to secure any loose items outside your home to prevent them from becoming airborne.
